but I feel the urge to roast some tires (to a very minor degree). Who's with me?

You will enjoy it. I promise :D
Also, thanks for my new phone wallpaper.

I never really was into doing burnouts but when I bought this Mustang I did one day one of ownership. Pretty much a requirement if you own a car like that lol.

You own a C4, but you have never done a burnout? Hand in 'Murican card, until further notice.

I'd love to do one, but I like my trans to much to do one.

It will be a moment of incredible euphoria! Also, I had to release the photo from the clutches of a greedy flickr user. Here's the other photo he took.
I feel so rebellious with my right-click skills.

But... but... I live in a city of terrible hipsters and politicians (runs away sobbing)

I can get my tyres to chirp... And, frankly, even that's at least a little impressive for 59 HP and 70nm.
![]() 09/29/2014 at 20:42 |

That is no excuse, convert the hipsters by dominating them with a burnout.

What?!? With all that off-idle torque you have too? I go through about 3 pairs of rear tires a year. On my drive home from work today, a douche in a E550 cut me off way to close for comfort before a light. So I got ahead of him and at the next light left him sitting in a haze of Firehawk rubber. Douche move I know, but I have zero tolerance for jackass drivers(Im aware of the irony). On a sidenote, I did see two Model S on my drive.

Oh, for sure. No doubt about that!
And lol. Now I have even more choices! This was the one I had before, but I think it must be replaced now.

Hrm...just absolutely cringe inducing axle hop whenever I try.
:(

If I go now and listen to Van Halen or something while completely de-treading my decent tires can I keep the card?
![]() 09/29/2014 at 20:51 |

Good choice on that one! I've been keeping it around for ~6 months but I feel like it's time to make a change.

You bet!
![]() 09/29/2014 at 21:11 |

Yes but only if you do it while eating steak and instead of Van Halen you blast Highway to Hell.

You have yourself a deal. The only downside is that no beer can be consumed during aforementioned activities unless I find someone with some land...

He's trying to retain his 'Murica membership, not his Aussie authorization.

Yeah, same here. I always like to keep my wallpapers fresh.

Never done one either. I respect my (frail) drivetrain too much.
![]() 09/29/2014 at 21:49 |

Tires cost money so I don't too often … but come on at least once!!!
![]() 09/29/2014 at 21:52 |

My drivetrain is pretty tough but is 30 years old, has 135k miles on it, and unknown maintenance history so I like to take things easy. Still, it wouldn't be hard to get it going without too much throttle and 1st gear is long enough to sustain a short burnout without getting too far over 4,000 RPM.

Yeah, but you regularly shred your tires at stop signs and the like. I'm too busy saving up for the next set of tires to roast them.

Only in the rain.

No, you were doing it when we left New Canaan last time, I was right behind you in the Benz...

Duratec doesn't like cheap tires.
![]() 09/30/2014 at 17:33 |

Ha, if you weren't whipping it so hard, you probably wouldn't notice a difference
![]() 09/30/2014 at 17:39 |

If I had decent rubber on the car, it wouldn't chirp as much as it does. IMO
![]() 09/30/2014 at 18:19 |

Normally I'd be inclined to believe you, but the other factor is that if you had better tires, I suspect you'd get into it even more. Possibly negating the benefits.
Kind of like if the FR-S left the factory with bigger tires. It's fun because it lacks traction, not because it has loads.
![]() 09/30/2014 at 18:26 |
|
Exactly. Sticker rubber=Less tire slippage. Frs case; less traction= more smiles!

I got the notification that you starred, or whatever the fuck it's called, my post. I'd just like to say that I would like to retract my previous statement. Hoonage has occurred as well as dropping the clutch at 3 grand.

I might as well burn up the old clutch while I still have it. Being 5 minutes from DC makes such things difficult...

I didn't know you were near DC. You should make it over to the Bethesda C&C when it gets warmer out.
